The westward expansion of the United States is much like the journey I took into blogging nearly 10 years ago.
As a dad, there are times that we tend to feel alone in fatherhood. But what a Southwest flight attendant did during a recent flight, made me realize that no matter where we are, we are all apart of a brotherhood of dads.
It was always so much easier when we didn’t have kids, or when we could push the Rookie around in a stroller while he would sleep most of the time. But even now, when he either ends up on my shoulders, complaining he has to go to the bathroom, there is something about fighting the crowds, or playing the Kazoo he picks up from the Kansas City Symphony this trip is always worth it.
When you are limited to the 14.4 cubic square feet of a Toyota Prius though, it can make packing interesting. Add in a dog that takes up some of that cargo space and things become even tighter.
