Full Disclosure: I was compensated by The Baby Cubby for the creation of the baby registry wish list guide, but the words and reviews of the products are of my own opinion.

When we had our first, I had no clue what I was in for. To be completely honest, I had no clue how to hold a baby, change a diaper, feed a baby, let alone all of the other things that we would need.

Somewhere, there is a video of me changing my very first diaper in the hospital… clueless how to do it. I will save you the laughter.

I can remember the countless questions I had about raising a baby. So many of those questions that I had at the time are now lost after having two children.

The one memory that is deeply embedded in my mind is walking around a baby store as we started to register for the baby shower. I can remember walking the aisles at the local baby boutique, lost. No one actually tells you the exact things that you need… and there are so many things.

But when you think about it, there are really only 4 things that are essential to raising your baby and your baby registry.

Diaper Bag

As a dad, this is one of the areas that I had the hardest time giving up my masculinity. I wanted something manly, something that I wouldn’t be embarrassed to go out sporting around my shoulder as we walked the zoo. As much as I would like to say that cargo shorts work that way with men, sometimes you just can’t carry everything that you need into the 15 small pockets you have on your shorts.

Realizing though much of the time I would walking with our son in a stroller, I understood that I wasn’t giving up my masculinity much… if at all by carrying around a bag that looked like a purse. The Little Unicorn Rambler Satchel Diaper Bag has the right amount of style and space to bring everything that you need to take care of the baby while you are on the go.

Stroller

Car Seat Baby Registry Wish List

Speaking of on the go. Whether you are a city dweller or someone who lives out in the country you are going to need something to stroll the baby around in. Unless you plan to carry him/her around everywhere having a stroller is one of those necessary items… an expensive one at that.

This is one of those items that you will be using more than you realize. Whether it is just shopping in the mall, walking in the park, or going to one of your favorite festivals around town it is not an item that you want to kid around with. Look into the features and find out what works best for you. For us, it was a matter of the easy maneuverability and the small folding capability of the Baby Jogger City Mini GT stroller.

Car Seat

Even if you are a city dweller, a car seat is going to be necessary when you have your baby. For the most part, your stroller and car seat will go together and for some time you won’t go anywhere without both when you have your baby.

If you are that city dweller that I am talking about you are going to want to make sure that your car seat can use the seatbelt to secure the car seat. This is where the Baby Jogger City Go Infant Carrier is essential. It can be utilized in a taxi when you don’t have your base with you. It is also one of the more easily adjustable car seats that I have tried… which is a function that you… REALLY will care about. Trust me.

Blankets

Baby Registry Wish List Blankets

This almost sounds like a no brainer. But let me explain, much like pacifiers become lost in our house, so do blankets. They can end up in some of the strangest of places. They can end up under couches, beds, cribs, left in cars, left at grandma’s house, or left in a bathroom somewhere after you are done changing your child’s diaper.

You can never have enough blankets. Not to mention that receiving blankets make for great swaddlers, which really helped sooth our second born and was the only way that he would sleep for the first two months.

Little Unicorn has a 3 pack of muslin blankets that are perfect for both swaddling, and you will have a couple extras if you leave that first one in a bathroom somewhere.

You’ll notice that all of these items are from The Baby Cubby. Let me tell you a little bit about what makes them great. The Baby Cubby believes that both mom and dads are superheroes, unsung and under appreciated. They believe that being a parent is the hardest job in the world. The Baby Cubby team is made up of parents who have been there, they know what it’s like and are passionate about encouraging, inspiring, and reminding parents how amazing they are and how important their role is.

The Baby Cubby always price matches and carries only the safest gear for you and your baby. They also have free shipping on orders over $49 which is a deal in and of itself.

I hope that this Baby Registry Wish List guide helps you as you look for the products that will help you become the parent you always hoped you would be.
