I have gone through 2 electric razors since college. While it might now sound like a whole lot part of the reason is because those razors were razors that I didn’t like. They didn’t get me as smooth as I would have liked.

I was never really satisfied with shaving with blades either because I would always end up cutting myself and there is one part of my chin that if I even nick it with a blade, I will have opened the flood gates.

I’ve always kept my eyes on electric razors.  One that would please the techy side of me. I’m one that always needs to be on the cutting edge (see what I did there?) of technology.  Ask Mrs. Rookie Dad, I always have to have the latest gadget or looking to see what is coming down the road so I can start saving my money up for that new phone, watch, or computer. I was waiting for that innovative razor that would get me smooth while being easy to maintain.

Enter the Philips Norelco Shaver 9000

The Philips Norelco Shaver uses 3 shaving heads that use Contour Direct Technology that will flex independently up to 8 directions to follow the contour of your face. Having used a razor with 3 heads in the past that didn’t contour to my face, I can say that the Contour Direct Technology makes a HUGE difference in how close the shave gets to your face.

Speaking of getting a close shave, the Philips Norelco Shaver also uses V-Track Precision Technology. What exactly does that mean? A close shave! A 30% closer shave in even the hardest to reach places.

The Philips Norelco Shaver also has 3 speeds that you can use to shave with. My beard is on the tougher end and so I used the highest settings to really cut through the tough hairs and it cut without hurting or pulling hairs like many of the other electric razors that I have had in the past.

Now we get to the things that I personally geeked out over. It might not seem like much but there is a motion sensor interface which shows you how much battery power you have left on the razor. I can’t tell you how many times I have been able to just pick up the razor to know if I needed to charge it or not.

Then comes the smart clean system. Neither of the past electric razors had a system like this that cleaned, dried, and charged the razor.  This puts the Norelco 9000 series razor leaps and bounds over my past experience because it was always a pain having to clean the razor manually. All you have to do is slide the razor onto the cleaning system push down and let it do its work. The cleaning takes about 15 minutes however, drying it will take 4 hours. If you need to get your shaving done quickly it might not be a good time to clean it right before you shave.

If I could put a stamp of approval on a product, I would definitely put it on the Philips Norelco 9000 series razor. Not only does will it get you a close shave, but it will also have you geeking out over the latest in electric razor technology.
